Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will not allow players to lop off limbs Obi-Wan style during gameplay.

Senior designer Justin Perez spoke to IGN regarding players’ expectations of dismemberment, swiftly shutting down the idea as a major gameplay mechanic.

“[chopping off limbs will only happen] in select cases,” Perez said. “In other words. spiders and droids are fair game but don’t expect to slice off Stormtrooper limbs”

Despite dismemberment being a regular occurrence in the Star Wars franchise pre-Disney, the House of Mouse’s aim towards family friendly content may be influencing the series’ spin-off media. However, even within Star Wars media it’s either Sith or Aliens that get the chop.
