Star Sports for Windows Phone now available

Star Sports has finally released a Windows Phone app. The app will give you access to player info, videos, scores, commentary and highlights. Users will also be able to get live updates. However, you can also see the full match for free but with a 5 minute delay — which seems a bit stupid when it  comes to live updates. The design of the app is neat as well. It’s worth noting that the videos can viewed only on Wi-Fi and 3G. That means, 2G users won’t be able to watch videos. Instead, they will be able to hear the audio only. Here is some of the app features:

  • Fastest Scorecard
  • Ad-free LIVE match streaming
  • HD Video Streaming
  • Real-time video clips of critical match moments

The app includes advertisement. However, if you’re subscribed to the to any of the Star Sports packages, the ads won’t show up. If you didn’t know about Star Sports, here is a short summary about the channel:

Star Sports is a cable network for showing sports-programmes, owned by STAR TV and Fox International Channels. It is available in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other Asian territories. The network is the official Asian station for the Barclays Premier League.

The app is available right now at the Windows Phone Store and you can download it from here.
