Star Citizen

Star Citizen’s multiplayer component will not be completed anytime soon, but it’s single-player portion is now targeting a mid-2020 release date.

Developer Cloud Imperium Games frequently releases updated development roadmaps for fans and backers of Star Citizen to stay updated with its development. Released yesterday, the new roadmap for Squadron 42 revealed a steady and exhaustive list of features and the timeframe they hope to implement them.

Of course, as with Star Citizen itself, things may end up not releasing or being finished as CIG hopes they will. However, with Squadron 42 being scripted and single-player, it should be an easier task than the gigantic undertaking the main game is.

Star Citizen: Squadron 42 aims to be a huge sci-fi epic. Starring Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson and more, it certainly has a star-studded cast. Whether its writing and gameplay can make it one of gaming’s greats we have yet to see.

As the biggest crowdfuned game of all time, Star Citizen has been steadily raising money since 2012. Currently, Star Citizen has raised nearly $212 million.
