Recently we have seen plenty of companies launching lite version of their apps. These apps work more or less like original apps but take less storage space. These apps are primarily made for low-end devices with less storage. The idea of developing separate software was floated by Google a few years back when they announced Android One. However, it wasn’t a huge success primarily because it was launched just for the South-Asian Market. Lately, Google has been taking a lot of interest in the idea and has launched Android Go.

Plenty of companies have launched their lite app under this project to let users with less storage and low-end devices run apps without any issues. The latest addition to the list of the lite apps is Spotify. While the original Spotify app takes around 100 MB, the Spotify lite app takes just 15 MB which is just 15% of the original app. The app has almost all the necessary features but lacks the Spotify Connect feature. Apart from this, the Spotify lite app doesn’t allow users to download songs and play offline. The company hasn’t shared why they don’t allow downloading songs but we think it has something to do with the storage constrains.

Spotify Lite is currently available on the Google Play Store. You can head down to get the app now but keep in mind that the lite apps won’t work with most of the Android devices. However, if you’re still interested in trying out the app then you can head to APK Mirror and download the APK file.
