Sony has announced a new PS5 model for “this holiday season”, which will launch in November 2023. The new model is smaller and lighter than the original PS5, and it comes with 1TB of internal storage and an attachable disc drive.
Priced at $500, it will also be available with or without an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive, giving players more choice and flexibility.
That also means, that if you buy the PS5 Digital Edition, you can still add a disc drive later by buying it separately. Take a look:
Sony also boasts that the new PS5 is 30% smaller and 18-24% lighter than the previous models. It also has a new design with four removable cover panels and a glossy top, and it comes with a horizontal stand.
However, you can also buy a separate stand that allows you to place the PS5 vertically for $30.
The new PS5 model will be released in more countries in the coming months. Once the current PS5 model is no longer in stock, the new PS5 model will be the only PS5 model available to purchase.
Will you chop this beast of a console for the holiday season?
