Windows 11's Snipping Tool

Is your Snipping tool not working on Windows 10 properly?

Microsoft has recently launched a new KB5050081 update for Windows 10 22H2, its only running version. And with that, the Redmond tech giant is fixing issues with Snipping Tool, the OS’ popular screenshot grabber app.

The Redmond tech giant says that it’s fixed an issue with the Capture Service and Snipping Tool, where the tools would stop responding when pressing Windows logo key+Shift+S multiple times while Narrator was on.

Microsoft has improved the Snipping Tool a lot in recent months, especially after Copilot AI’s arrival on Windows systems. Though, it’s mostly catered to Windows 11 users.

The Redmond tech giant has previously added features like video recording, Bing visual search, and the ability to copy tables directly into Excel. And in 2023, the company also launched Text Actions in the Snipping Tool, which lets you extract text from images using optical character recognition (OCR).

Still from the KB5050081 update for Windows 10, Microsoft is still adding some tidbits here and there despite ending the OS’ support in October.

The update launched the new Outlook for Windows app on Windows 10, and it’ll show up next to the classic Outlook in the Start menu’s Apps section. It also fixes a problem with USB audio devices not functioning when using certain DAC audio drivers.

Microsoft has been making a lot of conscious efforts in migrating users to Windows 11 as Windows 10 is marching towards its end. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to access your PC, though, because it’ll only stop security & new features support.
