Snapchat has now aped an Instagram feature for once, rather than the latter.

The firm has introduced Giphy integration (via The Verge), into the app, allowing users to now attach gifs into their snaps via stickers.

There’s also support for tabs, which allows users to separate their messaging feed into friends and stories, a feature that was much requested by Snapchat after its redesign merged both pages.

Snapchat’s redesign has been met with much consternation from users, but the firm indicates that its seeing higher engagement where it matters most, the ads.

“For example, in one of our first test markets, we saw that the number of Daily Active Users watching Publisher Stories on Discover grew by over 40 percent when compared to the old design of the application. We also saw gains in ad performance, both in terms of view time and engagement, as well as an overall increase in our Average Revenue Per User when compared to the prior design,” said Snap’s CEO Evan Spiegel.earlier this month.

The updates will be rolling out to iOS and Android users soon and in the coming weeks respectively.
