Skype gets new virtual messages for Valentine’s Day

Skype today announced the seasonal messages for Valentine’s Day on its apps. The service gets these seasonal messages every Valentine’s Day, and it also gets similar messages for Christmas every year. This time, though, Skype is adding a new feature called “virtual” valentine messages which basically adds floating hearts over your recorded video which is pretty neat. Once you are done recording the video, you can send it via Skype or share it on other services such as Facebook, WhatsApp, or even Twitter.

Microsoft is also partnering with Rogue Octopus for some new Skype Mojis and emojis specifically for Valentine’s day. Microsoft stated:

This year we partnered with Rogue Octopus, an independent agency working with rising artists and labels, to bring you new Mojis inspired by love. Our vision was to treat our Mojis as a gift, something you unwrap. Each Moji follows our two characters through different stages of love and is accompanied by an existing track from one of Rogue Octopus’s talent artists. As they start to roll out today, click on the red heart in the picker to select and send them.

The new Skype Mojis are available across Skype on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Windows 10. The new virtual messages for Valentine’s Day will also be available on mobile devices soon. You can get Skype for iPhone hereiPad here, and Android here. You can also get Skype on Windows desktop here and Mac here. As for Windows 10, you can also get the Skype Preview app from the Windows Store below:
