British Sky Broadcasting Limited has updated their Sky Sports app for Windows Phone to version 4.0.

The last update was in 2014, with the company seeming to wait around every 2 years to turn their attention to the app.

The Sky Sports News app brings you all the latest sports news as it happens as well as keeping you up to date with the latest scores, fixtures, results, tables and much much more. With exclusive video content, you can also watch news interviews and reactions to all the top stories.

The app also offers streaming access to Sky Sports News Radio, a new service which offers rolling sports news coverage. Dedicated sections include: Football, Cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Golf, Tennis, Formula 1 and Boxing sections.

The latest version brings:

  • Fix to several bugs including one which relates to video playback
  • New Sport sections
  • Refreshed design
  • Driver updates for new F1 season

Unfortunately the app remains a Windows Phone 8 app, and has not yet been upgraded to a UWA.

Find the app in the Windows Store here.
