On June 4, 2025, during Sony’s State of Play, Konami confirmed that Silent Hill f will launch on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This marks the first original mainline Silent Hill game in over a decade, following the 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2.

Set in 1960s Japan, Silent Hill f introduces a new protagonist, high school student Hinako Shimizu. As her hometown of Ebisugaoka becomes engulfed in a mysterious fog, Hinako confronts terrifying creatures and psychological challenges. The game emphasizes melee combat, with Hinako wielding weapons like pipes and spears to survive. Puzzles rooted in psychological anguish and Japanese cultural elements, such as scarecrows, deepen the horror experience.

Developed by NeoBards Entertainment, with writing by Ryukishi07 and music composed by Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage, Silent Hill f aims to blend traditional Japanese horror with the series’ legacy. The game’s art direction, led by artist Kera, presents grotesque monster designs that reflect the theme of finding beauty in terror.

As a standalone spinoff, Silent Hill f offers a fresh entry point for newcomers while including Easter eggs for longtime fans. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
