imageThe SkyDrive team has announced that short URLs for twitter for files stored on SkyDrive is now enabled.

The long SkyDrive URL (e.g https://skydrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=20F065AFC1ACDB2E!1258&cid=20f065afc1acdb2e ) will now be shortened to the much more palatable sdrv.ms/Ijozyj for pictures shared to twitter via Windows Phone.

Unfortunately pictures shared to SkyDrive will still not benefit from the preview feature on the Twitter  web interface, a feature we suggests Microsoft tackle with Twitter next.

Other new SkyDrive features are support for .ODF (open document format), 300 MB file uploads via the browser and Share to Twitter from SkyDrive, with the promise of “more really big things to come soon.”
