While we all made fun of Apple telling users they were holding the iPhone 4 wrong when their customers had reception issues, it is true for every phone that covering the antenna can lead to poor reception and dropped calls, particularly when the reception is very low.

Knowing where your antennae are can therefore be very valuable, including for example knowing where to tap for NFC connections.

WindowsMania.pl were of course one of the first to get their hands on the schematics for Microsoft’s new flagshipped, and posted these two showing clearly the location of the various bits on the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

It is interesting that the NFC area of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are in completely different areas, and that the wireless charging area is a lot bigger on the Lumia 950 XL for example.

There are much less differences between the Lumia 950 and 950 XL in terms of their sensor and button placements. We have of course already seen the Lumia 950 XL torn down in detail on this video here.
