Last we heard, in January 2016, the development of WeChat for Windows 10 has been put on “pause“, with Tencent diverting all their developers to other parts of the firm and leaving the Windows app in “maintenance mode.”
It seems some-one has pressed the play button again, as a new screen shot of the app has popped up on twitter, posted by Windows phone fan Hyken Wong.
The app features the typical hamburger menu design common amongst Windows 10 apps, and also a tab bar at the bottom for easy navigation. The design is significantly different from the current version of the app which can be seen below.
Hopefully the new picture is evidence if a response to the increased traction of Windows 10, and the app when delivered would be a Universal Windows App for both phone and PC.
