Earlier this year Samsung celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Galaxy S series with the launch of Galaxy S10. While Galaxy S10 was completely different from the original Galaxy S, it still came with the same form factor.

However, Samsung is planning to change that soon. The company recently filed a patent (via Letsgodigital) with the KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) which was published on 24 June 2019. The patent talks about a major design change and the addition of a second screen on Galaxy S11. The patent shows a way to extend the screen which should ideally increase the display by 50%. The patent looks similar to another patent filed by Samsung earlier this month.

Unfortunately, the patent doesn’t share details about the technical aspects of the phone and how it might work. The patent should work in theory and would be a nice way to introduce dual-screens into phones without folding the screen.
