Today we have more information about Samsung’s long rumoured folding smartphone, directly from the Taiwanese industry press.

ETNews reports that Samsung has solidified plans for the device, which reportedly features a 7.3-inch flexible OLED screen which folds inwards, much like the render above, from Samsung’s very old promo video below.

ETNews reports that the device could be shown off at CES to industry insiders, with the development of the displays in March, mass production of the displays in September and full device integration in November, for release of the device in December 2018 or January 2019.

ETNews reports Samsung is looking to retake the smartphone initiative with the release of the device, after smartphones became inextricably linked with Apple 10 years ago.
