Around a week ago, we reported that Samsung is finally rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The update rolled out on an incremental basis which meant that Beta users were the first to release official Oreo update followed by others as well.

Now the company has pulled off the plug on Android Oreo update without any specific reasons. According to Sammobile, the G950/G955-FXXU1CRAP Android 8.0 firmware files for these handsets are no longer available for download on Samsung’s servers. However, this won’t have any effect on users who already updated their device to Oreo. Sources have said that Samsung is working on a new firmware which suggests an issue or a bug with the original file.

Samsung has confirmed that the rollback of updates was because of unexpected reboots happening to some Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices. The company, however, hasn’t shared what exactly caused the unexpected reboot but we do hope the issue is not serious and Samsung can fix it soon.
