Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2

Samsung today announced the Galaxy SmartTag2 with improved design and new features that will help users to easily keep track of their belongings.

Top 5 features of Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2:

New Design:

The Galaxy SmartTag2 has a new circular design that makes it easy to carry. It has a metal loop that strengthens the product by using metal inside the ring. This makes it more resistant to damage and allows it to support accessories like clips and keyrings. You can also attach these accessories to bags and luggage.

Improved durability:

The Galaxy SmartTag2 is more durable than ever with an IP67 rating that makes it resistant to water and dust. Users can track their items in various challenging environments, such as outdoor travels. Pet owners can also rest assured that the device can withstand everyday exposure to water bowls or outdoor activities.

Better Battery life:

Galaxy SmartTag2 now has a new Power Saving Mode that lets users enjoy its features for longer. This mode preserves battery life while still allowing users to monitor their items. With Power Saving Mode, Galaxy SmartTag2 can last up to 700 days on a single battery, which is more than double the previous Galaxy SmartTag models. Even without Power Saving Mode, Galaxy SmartTag2 can last up to 500 days, which is a 50% improvement over the previous models. Users can switch between the two modes depending on their needs and track their valuables – from car keys to bikes – for longer.

Better connectivity:

Galaxy SmartTag2 includes both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB capabilities. Users can also use AR Find technology to get visual guide toward their lost item using their Samsung Galaxy smartphone camera. According to Samsung, Galaxy SmartTag2 works within maximum Bluetooth range of 120 meters.

New software features:

  • The Compass View feature of Galaxy SmartTag2 has been improved to offer a better user experience. It shows arrows that indicate the direction and distance of the Galaxy SmartTag2 from the user. This mode works on any Galaxy smartphone that supports UWB, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
  • The SmartThings Find app has improved its features. Now, when users register a new Galaxy SmartTag, they get a shortcut to the SmartThings Find app on their smartphone, which makes it faster and easier to access. The app also has a full screen map view and a user-friendly interface, which enhances the user experience.
  • If you change your Galaxy smartphone, SmartTag2 will automatically connect to your new device using your Samsung account.

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 will be available starting October 10.
