It seems Microsoft’s Surface Studio has caused Samsung to dig up some concepts it had lying around at the back of their labs, resulting in the reveal of two devices, rather unimaginatively called the Samsung All-in-One.

The All-in-One comes in a high and lower end model, with the lower end version lacking a touch screen and support for Windows Hello.

The devices, which feature a large 24 inch tiltable Full HD LED screen which can be raised and lowered,  suspended over a massive dual 10W speaker sound bar, which also happens to be a Bluetooth speaker, is clearly designed for entertainment purposes, and the screen also features HDMI-in, meaning other devices such as set-top boxes can be plugged into it.

The rest of the specs include:

  • 2.4GHz Intel Core i5-7400T processor
  • Intel HD Graphics 630
  • 8 or 16GB of memory
  • 1TB 5,400 rpm hard drive
  • Headphone/mic combo, HDMI in, HDMI out, one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, SD card reader

The PC also features a 43 Wh battery, which would probably be able to power the monster for 1-2 hours, meaning users are able to gingerly move the 8.8 kg device from room to room without powering it down. It also comes with its own keyboard/ mouse combo with sculpted keys and unusually both the RAM and storage is user upgradable.

Samsung has told CNET that they have no pricing available and also no current plans to sell the PC, which I suspect is probably just as well.
