Neowin managed to score a tour of Microsoft’s campus, which included a hands-on with the (disabled) current range of Windows Phone 8 handsets. Microsoft said they were not allowed to handle the OS as they still had “a few surprised still up their sleeves” which they were not ready to reveal yet.

Neowin noted the Lumia 920 was solid, had a great weight, was not slippery as they expected and “felt like a fantastic phone.”

They said the Nokia Lumia 820 was clearly the younger sibling, still felt solid but was more plasticky reflecting its expected lower price point. Both phones passed the body twist test.

They felt the Samsung ATIV S was really light in the hand, noting that this may not be a good thing.
