While Apple is regularly credited for revolutionizing the smartphone world, Samsung has decided to use the peak of the iPhone X hype cycle to remind us that Apple is regularly late to implement technology that other smartphone OEMs have been using for years.

Their minute-long ad looks back over last the 10 years of the iPhone and calls out issues such as poor signal, small screens when other companies went for larger screens years earlier, being late to waterproof phones and even later to wireless charging, and imposing dongle hell on their customers.

While Apple previously made the argument that they wait to implement technology so they could do it better, that argument has fallen flat in recent years.  Their waterproof phones are less water resistant than Samsung’s. Their large screen phones have bigger bezels, their bezel-less phones have strange notches, their wireless phones have the same Qi standard everyone else was using 4 years ago, and does not have fast Qi charging, their OLED screen does not support always on glance screens and dropping the headphone jack has not resulted in any significant improvement in the user experience.

With that in mind, enjoy spotting Apple’s well documented fumbles in Samsung’s ad below.
