This week’s free offerings on the Epic Games Store consist of brutal action shooter RUINER and post-apocalyptic roguelike Nuclear Throne.
All you need to claim the two games is an Epic Games account and the Epic Games launcher, both of which are also free. You also don’t need to give Epic any of your payment information, in case you’re worried about that.
RUINER is a brutal action shooter set in the year 2091 in the cyber metropolis Rengkok. A wired psychopath lashes out against a corrupt system to uncover the truth and retrieve his kidnapped brother under the guidance of a secretive hacker friend. Combine preternatural reflexes, augmented tools, and the arsenal of fallen foes to tear down HEAVEN.
Equip all manner of high-tech firearms and melee weapons to ruin all that oppose you. Employ state of the art gadgets like energy shield, dash augmentations, and the switch gun stun or hack the opposition onto your side of the fight.
You can pick up RUINER for free by following the link here.
Nuclear Throne is a post-apocalyptic roguelike-like top-down shooter. Not ‘the final hope of humanity’ post-apocalyptic, but ‘humanity is extinct and mutants and monsters now roam the world’ post-apocalyptic. Fight your way through the wastelands with powerful weaponry, collecting radiation to mutate some new limbs and abilities. All these things and more you could do if only you were good at this game. Can you reach the Nuclear Throne?

Both RUINER and Nuclear Throne will be free on the Epic Games Store until November 14th, when they’ll be replaced by The Messenger. The Messenger is a game about a young ninja venturing through a world besieged by demons in order to assure his clan’s survival.
