While it may seem we know everything there is to know about the upcoming range of Samsung Galaxy S10 handsets, it seems the company always has a few more surprises in store.
The latest feature has actually been rumoured all the way back in December, but then there was no real proof. Now a control box for a video demonstration station has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S10 range will include a feature called Powershare.
The Korean Video Display Merchandiser shows 5 options according to Slashleaks:
- Cinematic display
- Screen fingerprint reader
- Triple Camera
- Sharing wireless Battery
The last feature is, of course, the new one, and would allow an S10 user to charge other devices which use Qi charging, such as recent iPhones, most Galaxy handsets or even some smartwatches.
Such a feature first showed up in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, but was pretty slow there to the point of being unusable, but hopefully, Samsung will be able to do one better.
Samsung offered a wired version of this feature before, but this required a special cable and app, and was therefore not very useful or available. Qi wireless charging is however now much more pervasive and does not require any additional hardware.
Would our readers share their charge with iPhone-totting friends who of course have notoriously small batteries? Let us know below.
