A new mobile title collaboration between The Pokemon Company and DeNA is coming to Android and iOS: Pokemon Masters.

Focusing on Pokemon battles against the series’ most famous characters, like Blue, Brock, Misty and more, this new title will introduce real-time 3v3 battles to series for the first time ever.

In Masters, each trainer is partnered with a Pokemon to form a “sync pair”, then you’ll command a three-pairs team to take on your opponents. It’s definitely a unique system, one that takes a bit to get your head around, but it sounds interesting enough.

Set on the all-new island region of Pasio, Masters is aiming to be a fresh take on the Pokemon franchise. With other titles like Pokemon Go raking in billions of dollars, The Pokemon Company is certainly banking in on the IP’s recognisability and success.

“The Pokémon brand has captured the imagination of the world, and we are honored to create the newest Pokémon adventure for mobile devices with Pokémon Masters,” said Isao Moriyasu, CEO of DeNA. “We look forward to sharing new ways to battle when the game releases.”

“For years, fans have created enduring memories engaging with their favorite Pokémon characters throughout the Pokémon video game series,” said Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company. “With DeNA’s development expertise, we’re excited to bring together past and present Trainers and their partner Pokémon in a unique gaming experience that will delight fans around the world.”

The game will be available on both Android and iOS this Summer. There will be functionality for English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Traditional Chinese. Find out more here.
