In the wake of last night’s news about Joker from Persona 5 coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as DLC, rumors have been circling regarding a potential port of Persona 5 to the Switch.

Nintendo Life are reporting that rather than just being a straight port, the Switch version of Persona 5 will have a new title, new additions, and new story elements. They also state that a Switch port has apparently been under consideration since 2017.

They also report that the rumors may be grounded in fact, with another source being MysticDistance on Twitter. MysticDistance is a translator and secondary writer for Persona Central, KHInsider, and other sources.

MysticDistance claim that if there is a Persona 5 port for Switch, it will most likely be announced in April 2019 during the Persona Super Live 2019 concert. They also believe that Joker will launch as DLC around that time.

However, MysticDistance has deleted a tweet revealing more details about the rumor, stating in another tweet that it can be ‘easily traced back to those who have let me in on this’, but they have ‘very good reason to believe [the port] is true’.

Nintendo Soup are reporting that the title could possible be either Persona 5 Ultimate or Persona 5 Reloaded, based off two domain names that Atlus have previously registered.
