OverDrive is an app and service which allows users to check out ebooks and audio books from their local library for free. The app has been available on Windows Phone for a while, and has just had an update which adds some new features.
New in version 2.42 is:
- Improved Dictionary and Wikipedia look-up
- Early return to library
- Background file downloads
- Pinch-to-zoom image while reading
- Better memory management
- Continuous playback of ebooks
The service has more than 18,000 library partners, so if you are interested in ebooks it is certainly worth checking if you already have access to content for free from your local library.
