Over 80% of Windows devices are now running the April Update

Microsoft’s Windows 10 April Update has been rolling out since the first half of this year and has reached most Windows 10 PCs this year.

As per Ad Diplex’s stats, 82% of Windows 10 PCs are now running the anniversary update, reaching the cast majority of Windows PCs. APp developers can now target the newest APIs for Windows 10 confident that they’ll reach most users with their new features.

AdDuplex’s stats also show the rate of growth of the new Surface Pro which has reached 17.4% of the installed base. Users of the Pro outnumber the Surface Laptop and Book 2 which have a 3% and 2% install base respectively.

Microsoft is scheduled to release the next big update for Windows 10 towards the end of the year, and we’ll see if this increased appetite for updates stays consistent.
