Microsoft recently introduced a new feature for the Outlook Mobile app on iOS which lets 3rd party developers extend the functionality of the mail app, allowing users to for example search for and insert giphy gifs in their emails, or add an email as a card right to your Trello account.

When the feature was announced for iOS Microsoft also said it would be coming to Android soon, but did not make any mention of Windows 10 Mobile.

Now in a statement to Neowin Microsoft reassured Windows Phone fans that the feature is indeed on the way, saying;

Currently, add-ins are available to Outlook users on the web – Windows, Mac (in Insiders). Now, it’s available on mobile for Outlook on iOS, coming soon to Android. It will eventually roll out to Windows mobile, but we don’t have any specifics on timeline to share at this time.

Given that Android got a “soon” and Windows 10 Mobile did not I would think holding one’s breath is probably not a good idea, but it is good to know Microsoft is sticking to its promise to keep the apps on the various platforms in parity.
