Is the original Samsung Omnia getting a Windows Mobile 6.5 update? While this is unlikely, this is exactly what Dutch customer services told a punter, according to Samsung Omnia.org. The e-mail is below:

In your email,you asked if the Omnia will get a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM update. We can confirm that this is coming, but the exact date is not yet known, we recommend you keep an eye on the www.samsungmobile.nl website.
Of course it is quite possible the rep was confusing the Samsung Omnia and Omnia 2, which will indeed get the upgrade, but if Samsung is indeed planning to release WM 6.5 for the original Omnia that would be rather generous indeed and earn quite a but of respect from the Windows Mobile community, unlike HTC who has basically abandoned users of the very popular HTC Touch HD.
