Given the restrictive nature of the Marketplace for Windows Mobile it seems there will still be a lot of space for other sources of applications.  However, now that we have seen a better way of finding and installing applications the usual websites don’t really cut it.

OpnMarket is an application under development at XDA-Developer.com which acts as a on-device front end for the 10 000 application freeware catalogue at freewarepocketpc.net, and, as the apps are free, there is no need to deal with billing and other financial security related issues.

The app is still a bit rough, being designed on a QVGA device, but hopefully this will be sorted soon.
