OpenAI has announced the launch of the GPT Store. Users can access and share custom versions of ChatGPT.
The GPT Store features a variety of GPTs created by both OpenAI partners and the community. Options span diverse categories, including artistic tools like DALL-E image generation, writing assistants, research aids, programming tutors, educational resources, and lifestyle applications. Additionally, OpenAI will periodically highlight particularly valuable and impactful GPTs.
But wait, what are GPTs?
GPTs, or Generative Pre-trained Transformers, are powerful AI models that can learn from massive amounts of text data and generate human-like text, translate languages, create diverse types of creative content, and provide informative answers to your questions. They are highly adaptable and can be fine-tuned for specific tasks, making them useful in various fields.
OpenAI will showcase new GPTs every week and highlight impactful ones. Some of the featured GPTs include personalized trail recommendations from AllTrails, search and synthesis of results from over 200 million academic papers with Consensus, expanding coding skills with Khan Academy’s Code Tutor, designing presentations or social posts with Canva, finding your next read with Books, and learning math and science with the CK-12 Flexi AI tutor.
To include your GPT in the OpenAI store, you don’t need to have any coding skills. It’s a simple process. However, you must save your GPT for everyone instead of anyone with a link. Also, you must verify your Builder Profile by enabling your name or a verified website in the Settings section. Once you have completed these steps, you can share your GPT with others in the OpenAI store.
Note: Currently, this service is only available for ChatGPT Plus users.
Importantly, OpenAI assures that user conversations with GPTs are not used to improve their general models, upholding privacy and security within Team and Enterprise environments.
