Both OnePlus Nord N10 and Nord N100 are OnePlus’ latest budget smartphones and while the duo has so far received a positive response for offering decent hardware at an affordable price, those who care about software updates might want to give these two smartphones a skip.
OnePlus has confirmed to Android Central that its latest Nord N10 and N100 will get only one major software update. Now, since both the Nord N10 and N100 offer Android 10 out of the box, we can safely say that these two handsets are eligible to get the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11. But unlike other premium OnePlus smartphones, N10 and N100 are not going to get Android 12, according to the company.
Unfortunately, OnePlus didn’t share the details as to when the OxygenOS 11 update will be made available to N10 and N100 devices.
This will make a lot of people think twice before buying the N10 or N100 and as a result of this, the hype around these two devices might not reflect in the sales figures. On the contrary, since an average user, who is the target audience for N10 and N100, doesn’t care about updates, the company’s decision to push only one major update to its latest budget phones might not impact the sales.
Meanwhile, OnePlus has started rolling out the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update and the first OnePlus phone that got the update was the OnePlus 8 series. The company also promised that it’d make the update available for its older premium smartphones, including OnePlus 7T, 7T Pro, and OnePlus 7, 7Pro.
