OneNote for iOS update fixes attachment bug

Microsoft has pushed out a small update to OneNote on iOS for iPhone users.The new update addresses a particularly pertinent issue where attached files and images would either fail to open or appear with a placeholder X denoting an error of some kind. To fix this, Microsoft recommends closing and reopening the affected notebook which should flush out al errors.

Microsoft also acknowledges another issue which is yet unresolved. This issue results in some users of OneNote being constantly signed out and therefore constantly prompted to log in to their Microsoft accounts.

It hasn’t been fixed yet, nut the OneNote team is reassuring users that it will be in the near future,

Fixed – Can’t See File Attachments and Images: If your file attachments won’t open, or your images appear as a placeholder with a red X, please close and re-open the notebook.

We are working hard to track down and resolve an issue some customers are seeing with recurring sign-in prompts. We have some fixes in this release we are hoping will help with consumer OneDrive accounts. Please keep using the in app feedback below to let us know if you are having issues.

Microsoft is also working on an update for iOS and Android which will unify the OneNote app with the Windows platform app as well, allowing for a seamless workflow between devices. While the firm has;t yet begin to roll out the changes on mobile platforms, hints of this are beginning to appear on Windows 10 PCs and tablets already.
