Microsoft has released an update for OneNote for Windows 10 with a number of new features, but by far the most interesting is the ability to find Notebooks on your hard drive and upload them to cloud storage.

The solution addresses the biggest issue with OneNote – that being that the updated UWP app lacks the ability to work with local files, insisting on using cloud solutions such as OneDrive.

To use the feature:

  1. Under Notebook name, click to select one or more of the notebooks that were found on your hard drive.
  2. Next to the list of notebooks, under Upload to this cloud account, click each Select cloud account drop-down menu and choose the cloud account to which you want to upload that particular notebook.
  3. To finish, click the Upload button

The update otherwise brings features such as improved navigation, custom tags and the ability to search for the same, improved Print to OneNote, improved graphing and more.  Read the full list at Microsoft here.

Find the app, which is normally pre-installed on your PC, in the Store here.
