It’s happening. Oculus is finally ready to sell its Rift virtual reality headset to the public. The company will be start taking pre-orders for the Rift on Oculus.com starting January 6. Unfortunately though, the company didn’t reveal the price of the device just yet — however, we will be able to know that once the pre-orders go live. The company stated the Oculus Rift will come bundled with Lucky’s Tale and CCP’s EVE: Valkyrie for free with every pre-ordered Rift. It is worth noting that your computer needs to be powerful enough to be able to power the Oculus Rift — here are  the required specs:
- NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
- Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
- 8GB+ RAM
- Windows 7 SP1 or newer
- 2x USB 3.0 ports
- HDMI 1.3 video output supporting a 297MHz clock via a direct output architecture
The device will be available at 8am Pacific Time on January 6 — that’s 16:00 GMT. Are you planning to buy an Oculus Rift? Let us know in the comment section below.
