NVIDIA drops support for 32-bit operating systems

NVIDIA has now announced its plans to drop support for 32-bit OS PCs from April 2018. As part of this plan, NVIDIA will release Game Ready Driver upgrades, including performance enhancements, new features, and bug fixes only for 64-bit operating systems from now on. However, it will release citical security updates for 32-bit OS based PCs. This change affects the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 7
  • Microsoft Windows 8/8.1
  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Linux
  • FreeBSD

NVIDIA also mentioned that GeForce Experience software upgrades with new features, security updates, and bug fixes will be available only on Windows 64-bit operating systems.  Existing features and services such as optimal game settings will continue to work on 32-bit Windows PCs.
