In an interview with Israeli publication Techit.co.il a Eurocom representative who distributes Nokia’s phones phones in Israel has confirmed that they will be delivering Windows Phone 8 handsets from Nokia at the end of the year.

The statement reads:

Eurocom Nokia is expected to launch in the Lumia Nokia devices based on Windows Phone operating system, towards the end of the year, after the released version 8.0 of the operating system that includes full support for Hebrew.

The news is of course no surprise, but is the first acknowledgement from anyone close to Nokia that the updated OS even exists (besides Nokia Saudi Arabia’s twitter gaffe of course).

Now all that is left is some confirmation of an upgrade for existing handsets, which we hope will come in June 2012 at the upcoming Windows Phone summit.
