Nokia’s Music app is one of the major selling phones for their Windows Phone 7 handset.  The app allows users to freely stream random mixes of specific genres and even download up to 50 songs for off-line listening.  It offers similar benefits to Spotify but at no cost at all, except of course buying a Nokia Windows Phone.
Now even that price has been eroded, with the XAP now freely available for unlocked handsets on XDA-Dev, and can be used on any handset, as can be seen in the video above. Developer Unlock is now freely available due to the Chevron crew.
Unlike Nokia Maps, which was always intended for all handsets, Nokia Music was meant to be exclusive, so we will not link to the XAP.
It should however ring a warning bell to Nokia – Differentiating through software is likely the wrong way of doing it, and making the best phone possible may be money much better spent.
