Nokia Lumia 900 getting the Windows Phone 7.8 update “in coming weeks”

The new Windows Phone 8 user interface may show up on a Windows Phone 7 handset first, with the Nokia US twitter rep tweeting that the update will be “rolling out in the coming weeks.”

The first Windows Phone 8 handsets are expected only in the fall, likely around September to October, which is of course several months away.

The Windows Phone 7.8 update will bring the new Windows Phone 8  start screen to Windows Phone 7, but any other additional features are unclear.
