Nokia India today announced aÂ marketing partnershipÂ with famousÂ Spanish football club FCÂ Barcelona. TheÂ marketing campaign will run for six months, through various media and an exclusive mobile application on Nokia Lumia Windows Phones. Also NokiaÂ will pick up 11 consumers who will travel to Barcelona to meet FCB players.
“Today football is gaining significant traction and the youth is following club football with a lot of enthusiasm. We believe that this association will bring fans closer to football and FC Barcelona like never before,â€ D. Shivakumar, SVP, Nokia India Middle East and Africa, said.
â€œâ€˜Tiki Taka with Nokia Lumiaâ€™ campaign is based on FC Barcelonaâ€™s famous style of play â€” â€˜Tiki Takaâ€™. However, more than the style of play, the campaign embodies the philosophy of Tiki Taka â€” sharing, connecting people, being spontaneous and social,â€ Antoni Rossich, Chief Executive Officer, FC Barcelona said.
Football popularity in India is gaining momentum and Nokia is looking to capitalize on it. Nokia is already a prime sponsor for Kolkata Knight Riders IPL Cricket team.
