We have heard rumblings, but now it has been confirmed that the NoDo update for the Samsung Omnia 7 has been halted due to “technical issues with the update package”.

Michael Stroh, a consumer writer for Microsoft according to his LinkedIn profile, admitted to the issues in the comments on the Windows Team Blog post on the latest update.

While some may suggest this is another failing by the Windows Phone 7 update team, there now appears to be a clear pattern of issues with Samsung’s smartphones, both Windows Phone and Android, likely brought on by the rapid changes in the firmware of these handsets during the manufacturing process meaning there even apparently identical handsets can be very different internally.

The good news of course is that the Michael’s comment suggests the issue has been fixed and the roll-out will resume soon again.
