Microsoft just announced three brand new Xbox One controllers, but there was another announcement mixed in: a super slim Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10. This new model is a whopping 66% smaller than the original, but also packs even more features into its slimmer shell. It’s now capable of supporting up to eight controllers and can also transmit stereo sound.
The new Xbox Wireless Adapter might seem a bit redundant since every new Xbox One controller also supports Bluetooth, but the official adapters generally provide a much more stable experience since they use the same wireless system as the Xbox One itself. So far the Surface Studio is the only non-Xbox device to support that out of the box.
If you’d like to buy the new Xbox Wireless Adapter, you’ll have to wait a week. It’ll launch next Tuesday for $24.99, and can be pre-ordered here. It should also replace the older Wireless Adapter in the bundle that includes it with a new Xbox Wireless Controller around the same time.
