A new extension for the Windows 10 Photos app has arrived in the Microsoft Store.

Called Photos Media Engine Add-on, the app claims to:

This add-on activates advanced search capabilities in Microsoft Photos and subsequently helps users find their photos by people, places, or things.

The  Windows 10 Photos app of course already offers these features, but they appear much less capable that the online photo search available on the OneDrive website for example.

The extension appears to be available for all versions of Windows 10.  Find it in the Store here.
