WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will stop your wife from reading your texts. A recent update from WhatsApp watcher WABetaInfo confirmed that the company is working on biometric authentication for the app.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has already added the feature to the Android beta and is working on finalizing it for the release. Unfortunately, the feature is currently hidden so you won’t be able to try it out even if you have WhatsApp beta.

After working to implement Face ID and Touch ID features on iOS (that aren’t available yet for development reasons), WhatsApp has finally started to work on the Authentication feature on Android, using your Fingerprint!

The feature will be available under privacy settings and will protect both the app and the notifications from unauthorized access. WhatsApp hasn’t confirmed when the feature will be available but we should expect to see it soon on Android and later on iOS as well.
