Screen08 A bit like Fermat’s last theorem, where he casually announced having solved one of the biggest mathematical problems of this age, Daniel Álvarez has created a “simple” application for switching sound output from the front to the rear speaker and vice versa.

The small application, called PPC-AudioSwitch, accomplished this without any fuss and seems to work pretty well on the Xperia X1 I am using, handling the switch completely in the fly.

The software is particularly useful for VOIP phone calls, where the inability to direct the audio to the earpiece has been the bane of this type of communication on Windows Mobile for some time. I can confirm it works well on Skype.

The Windows Mobile Professional software can be downloaded from Daniel’s blog here, and he is promising a Windows Mobile Standard version soon also.
