Just as was foretold, Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct for Thursday the 23rd of September at 6 PM ET / 11 PM BST, in which they’ll showcase “Nintendo Switch games launching this winter.”
With Metroid Dread and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl due to launch in the coming months, it’s likely that we’ll see trailers or more information for these upcoming games, with potentially some new reveals too if we’re lucky.
The highlight of the Nintendo Direct is likely to be the announcement of a new Nintendo Switch controller, as FCC documents showing images and documents for this new peripheral are due to be released on Friday the 24th of September.
Previously these documents were planned to remain classified until March of 2022, however recently the date was moved up, so it’s clear that Nintendo is planning something, and the plan probably isn’t to let the FCC do the announcement.
With Game Boy and Game Boy Color games rumoured to be headed to Nintendo Switch online, it’s possible that they may also be announced during this Nintendo Direct, however, this has not been confirmed.
