I am sure we will all be missing the great integrated experience of having our Facebook messages and Messenger messages all showing up in the same place as our text messages, but it seems Microsoft is planning to compensate by at least making it easy for users to access their Facebook Messages right out of the box.

In the latest builds of Windows Phone 8.1 it appears to Facebook Messenger app recently demoed is bundled with the OS, meaning users will not have to look very far to get started.

The move is another unfortunate sign that the original concept of the Hub for an activity is going away and the OS becoming increasingly app-centric rather than task centric, but then one can only try and beat back the tide for so long.

Thanks DP for the tip.
