Surfing the net, especially when you’re someone who works with computers, can be a stressful business. But, a new Opera browser called Opera Air has the solution.
Opera Air has a lot of features that set it different from a regular Opera browser or even the gamer-friendly Opera GX. It has at least 19 customizable Boosts with binaural beats, ambient sounds, and music to suit various mental states that will play in the background.
The “Take a Break” feature reminds users to rest at set intervals, with a Body Battery system tracking break times. A daily motivational quote will also be slapped on the browser’s interface, while the appโs Scandinavian minimalist design with a frosted glass interface makes things look a lot calmer when you browse.
Opera Air also includes Opera’s standard features like a built-in VPN, ad blockers, and Aria, Opera’s AI assistant. And it’s downloadable here.
In its survey conducted in January 2025, Opera found that a big portion of users experience stress or overwhelm while browsing the web. The research was done with a sample of 7,000 people across eight (mostly) European countries and in the Americas.
Many respondents (over 70%) expressed interest in a browser that promotes well-being through science-based techniques like relaxation exercises, reminders for breaks, and ambient music. Most participants (70%-96%) showed enthusiasm for features that could help them relax and boost productivity, such as guided mindfulness tools and quick exercises.
Elsewhere in Opera-related news, the company also launched its absurdly bizarre fashion collab: a purse so big that it fits your entire PC.
