Binging a show is about to get a lot easier with Netflix’s new variable playback feature. Spotted by Android Police, the firm is testing a new feature that lets users control how fast they consume a show. You’ll be familiar with this from YouTube which lets users go as fast as .25x and as fast as 2x speed when watching a video. The firm does something similar, offering up to 0.5x to 1.5x. It’s currently limited only to some Netflix users with devices running Android, so it is probably just a test feature for now.

Netflix may eventually bring this feature to iOS, the Web and Windows.

For watching blitzing through documentaries and the like, this feature may prove to be a godsend.
