When Microsoft created the Lumia 950 and 950 XL it appeared they expected from the start that a variety of replacable covers should be available from certified 3rd party sources like Mozo.
In many ways the presence of Mozo did make up for the pedestrian at best design of the premium devices, but it appears the commercial failure of the handsets has also caused Mozo to reconsider their own commitment to the devices.
French site thewindose.fr reports that Mozo has stopped production of their colourful plastic backs for the Lumia 950, due to (according to an email from Mozo support) “recent Microsoft news” which we can only assume to mean the retrenchment-related sales and market share news, and that they will be concentrating on more premium backs like their wooden ones, and also on Surface sleeves.
The plastic cases were selling for around £20, and I while I think did evoke some Nokia nostalgia from some users were probably never big sellers.
With Microsoft having multiple fire sales for the Lumia 950/950 XL range, do our readers feel they are losing even the limited accessory support they had? Let us know below.
