Microsoft is reportedly planning to take on Truecaller with its new Dialer app…for India. The Dialer app for Android will allow users to search other users’ info, just like Truecaller. Additionally, the app will also allow users to search for nearby places such as restaurants, railway stations, businesses, etc. Dialer will also display real-time information about a caller, and it will also allow users to block callers. It is worth noting that the Dialer app for Android is kind of like the Nearby Numbers app for Windows 10, which we reported about a few weeks ago.

It seems like Microsoft is allowing a group of users to test the app in India. It isn’t clear if the app will be making its way to other countries when it launches, but we doubt that’s happening anytime soon. The app is expected to come in the “second week of December”, and it is also coming to Windows Phone — but you will have to wait until 2016 as the app is planned to arrive on Windows “early next year”.
